For example, Chandler is home to the Veterans Oasis Park which is an environmental education center dedicated to preserving over 113 acres of wetlands and desert habitats. You can enjoy several fun outdoor activities at the park, including a lake for fishing, as well as hiking and biking trails. Also, the Hamilton Aquatic Center in Chandler offers you an escape from the desert heat with a zero-depth play pool, a current river, two water slides, and an eight-lane competition pool. Another way you can spend your afternoon is by visiting the Chandler Center for the Arts. Here you can watch local entertainers perform or check out an art exhibition at The Gallery. Several famous musicians have brought their talents to the Chandler Center for the Arts, including LeAnn Rhymes and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Many skateboarders also visit Chandler for its incredible skatepark which is over 35,000 square feet in size. The skatepark is located at Snedigar Sportsplex which also features 12 soccer fields and several baseball fields. Chandler is also home to the world-famous Ostrich Festival – an annual community event that revolves around ostrich ranching. Many of the activities and entertainments that take place include petting zoos, carnival rides, and a morning parade.
